As Junior Custom Officer at Sabena Aerospace you will be part of the logistic team. You will be responsible for the management of every worldwide transport type and for the administrative preparation of the transport. You will work in close collaboration with the rest of the team and will apply the processes to secure transportation efficiency. You will work in an international environment and insure best in class customer support. You will report to a Chipping Customs Officer.
. Manage all requests for all worldwide transport types for Inbound/outbound and the related question from internal departments on transport conditions, packing, customs requirements. Keeping them informed on new import/export contract or regulation.
. Using of each forwarders’ web interfaces
. Packing + labelling ad hoc, regarding goods (type & size), transport type (road, air, train, sea), country destination
. Packing sheet via program or manually
. AWB writing in forwarder’s system/prog
. Transit T1 document to be foreseen when needed
. Forwarders handling during upload + providing all documents according to the shipment type and goods type.
. Keeping internal department informed on their transport status + transport invoicing
. To answer to question of our customers on their transport status – using of their specific reporting procedure/tool
. RFQ for sales department, etc.
. Forwarders delay/claim follow up, this requests close collaboration/solicitation with/to all Sabena departments.
. Forwarders invoicing handling
. For shipment with ‘under customer’ status we are using a licence ‘Perfectionnement Actif’ to reduce import taxes.
Every month we have to balance/to clear the custom import situation with FFF (using Christian Baes program)
. Knowledge of Intrastat codes and documents requested for T1 transit status.
. Shuttle between the different Sabena locations and outstations
. Documents classification & archiving.
• You have a bachelor degree or have the same level of experience
• You have at least 1 year s’ experience in custom environment
• You have good communication skills and you are fluent in English and Dutch/French written and oral
• You are result-oriented, quality-driven and customer oriented
• You are dynamic, stress resistant
• You are flexible and a real team player
• You have the knowledge of an ERP system (SAP is a plus) and of MS office
